OMIG: Developing methods to work with intercultural sensitivities

Main goal: This project especially pays attention to the drop out rate, and the continuous rise of it, of migrant youngsters in comparison to the drop out rate of the autochthonous youngsters. As a result the chances for a sustainable employment diminish for the first mentioned group. The project aim is to deal with this drop out rate through the development of innovative methods, thus creating a more sensitive and sensible approach towards the target group.
Target group:

We want to intervene early in the process through the introduction of the innovative methodologies, thus enabling the migrant youngsters to get a better qualification in the complementary education, full time and part time, and enhance their chances on a stable job opportunity.

These methodologies are meant for the service providers, teachers, guidance counsellors and all those who support these adolescents within the education sector. We will try to prevent the drop out rate and the wrongly oriented drop out rate through a better guidance and orientation, thus facilitating the transition education/ labour market.
