Project COOS: Competition concerning Entrepreneurial skills for school teams

Main goal
  • To organiser a school competition "Which school has the best entrepreneurial skills?" and this during the Week on Entrepreneurship in schools 2009
General goals:
  • To improve the spirit of enterprises for young people and this through the participation in a competition.
  • Underline the training for entrepreneur through the composition of a school team and the preparation for the competition.
  • To increase the attention for entrepreneurship in schools.
  • To offer a new concept to improve entrepreneurship in schools.
  • To prepare and guide young people in a better way in their choice of becoming a future independent entrepreneur.
Specific goals:
  • To improve the image of entrepreneurship for young people.
  • To increase the knowledge concerning entrepreneurship.
  • To underline the possibility of entrepreneurship as a possible choice of profession.
  • To underline social entrepreneurship.
  • To increase the number of future starters.
The target group in view: All secondary schools in Flanders and al Dutch-speaking secondary schools in the Brussels metropolitan district. With no distinction concerning age, gender, form of education, year and branch of studies of the participants. The composition of the team will be made by the schools itself.
Context: The Actionplan ‘Entrepreneurial Education’ of the Ministry of Education and training, in collaboration of the Ministry of Economy, Sciences and Innovation.
