PROJECT  GENERAL SUBJECTS[1]

1 Practical language skills

The pupils are able to:

1 grasp the essential content in verbal and written information;

2 reflect on this information and evaluate it;

3 use information they have obtained, verbally;

4 conduct a verbal argument;

5 formulate simple information in  writing;

6 express themselves clearly verbally.

2  Practical numeracy skills

The pupils are able to:

7 apply proportions in a practical way, for example:

  • the principle of the rule of threes;
  • calculate percentages;
  • using a scale.

8 independently apply the mathematical way of thinking acquired in the second stage, in practical situations (e.g., arranging information in a diagram, structuring it);

9 spontaneously and independently take measurements in an appropriate way in practical situations.

3  Practical acquisition and processing of information

The pupils are able to:

11 find, select and use relevant information in concrete situations;

12 understand and use information from a range of text materials;

13 * spontaneously use information and communication technology (ICT) which is relevant for them.

4  Organisational skills

The pupils:

14 realise that they must make choices to organise their lives appropriately;

15 are able to plan, organise, execute and evaluate tasks independently, and if  necessary, modify them;

16 for group tasks, are able to:

  • discuss and participate actively;
  • carry out instructions as a team;
  • reflect and adapt.

5  Sense of time and space

The pupils:

17 on the basis of current affairs and their own experiences, realise:

  • that there is a link between the past, present and future;
  • that there are cultural differences in people’s daily lives;

18 are familiar with the relevant aspects of their own region;

19 are able to identify and discuss important world problems.

6 Social and ethical awareness, resilience and responsibility

The pupils:

20 are able to apply for jobs;

21 are familiar with the services of the most important social institutions in their own  region, and are able to make use of these;

22 are aware of the importance of the socially relevant forms and procedures;

23 are able to read, complete and check socially relevant forms;

24 are able to apply socially relevant procedures;

25 are familiar with the aspects of social legislation and employment law which are relevant to them;

26 are able to manage and bank money;

27 are able to draw up a family budget and think about managing it;

28 are aware of the importance of lifelong learning;

29 * adopt a conscious and responsible approach to consumer behaviour;

30 * behave responsibly in traffic;

31 * are motivated to look after their own health and welfare, and that of others;

32 spontaneously adopt a safe approach in everyday situations.

[1] The attainment targets must be achieved, regardless of the choice which the competent authorities make on the basis of the Education Decree II.
