SOCIAL SKILLS

1 Endeavouring to develop relational versatility

The pupils

1 discover the advantages and disadvantages of different relationship modes in various contexts and make choices on the basis of this;

2 name and indicate their emotions, express them in an appropriate way and recognise and indicate the emotions of others;

3 select relationship modes consciously, taking context elements such as situations and partners into account.

2 Aiming at clear communication

The pupils

4 communicate in a goal-oriented way, for example they

  • test each other’s interpretations and harmonise them if necessary;
  • express their own feelings and thoughts;
  • recognise and deal with prejudices and expressions of inappropriate influence (intimidation, manipulation, and the like);

5 have an eye for approaching wishes and situations based on their own and on someone else’s authenticity and expression.

3 Participating constructively in the functioning of social groups

The pupils

6 help formulating and realising group objectives by:

  • establishing contacts;
  • consulting and making arrangements;
  • dividing tasks and functions;
  • weighing up and mediating;
  • contributing to a good functioning of the group as a group;

7 can indicate the importance and possible risks of taking part in formal and informal social networks and use the advantages of it;

8 aim to achieve a balance between the own wishes, desires and experiences and the group interests;

9 can cope with hierarchy, power and regulations;

10 commit to assuming their own responsibility.

4 Conflict management and consultation

The pupils

11 have an insight into the potentially constructive and destructive role of conflicts;

12 realise the importance of feelings and body language to manage conflicts;

13 manage conflicts by defending the own interests without losing track of the interests, motivations and emotions of others;

14 are prepared to listen to others in conflicts, to give them the opportunity to express themselves, to respect them and their emotional limits and to consult.
